R&C Consulting Group, Inc. (RCCG) is a community-based provider dedicated to supporting and empowering youth and adults across North Carolina. One of those efforts is to provide transportation to appointments at RCCG so that the barrier created by the lack of transportation does not prevent individuals and families from receiving the necessary services. All clients receiving services at RCCG are eligible to receive transportation assistance. RCCG believes removing the barrier of transportation needs, individuals are more likely to keep appointments and complete goals on their respective plans of care. Transportation services are limited to destinations that are required for the implementation of the plan of care. Transportation services provide RCCG clients travel to and/or from RCCG appointments and community resources providing needed services. RCCG transportation is free of charge for local general and medical appointments. General transportation is destinations that may include, but are not limited to, nutrition sites, housing offices, vital records offices, social security offices, and job fairs to name a few. Medical transportation includes destinations that may include, but are not limited to, doctor’s offices, hospitals, health clinics, and pharmacies. Clients who are on Medicaid or eligible for Medicaid needing transportation to out of town hospitals or clinics can receive assistance from administration staff in contacting his or her social worker at the local Department of Social Services to arrange those rides.
RCCG’s transportation is made up of 7-passenger and 15-passenger vans, along with economy cars seating 4 clients. Our vehicles are operated by highly qualified personnel who have undergone thorough safety and customer service training to ensure that our clients are offered the highest possible level of customer service. Transportation operates during RCCG office hours, 8:30-5:00 pm. All clients with scheduled transportation are asked to be ready for pickup at least one (1) hour prior to the medical appointment. Clients should be ready to board the transit vehicle when it arrives at your home. The driver will wait 5 minutes for you to board the vehicle before leaving the location. RCCG transportation drivers are not allowed to enter the home of a client, nor are they allowed to accept any form of gratuity or gift. To cancel scheduled service, clients must contact the office before the driver arrives at the pickup location. A 24-hour-a-day-a-hours cell number for each respective RCCG office is available for cancellation of scheduled trips via text or call. Clients who no-show transportation (2) two times without canceling rides will be suspended from transportation services for a (2) two-week period.
